Deadwood, Gunsmoke, the early films of Gene Autry, Hopalong Cassidy, and John Wayne, as well as many other tv series and movies were filmed at Melody Ranch in Newhall, California. In its early days it was owned by Monogram Pictures and known as the Monogram Ranch. Later it was bought by Gene Autry who renamed it the Melody Ranch. In 1962 it was destroyed by a fire. Then, in 1991 it was bought by new owners and rebuilt. Read more about the history of the ranch and see photos HERE.
